Pierre’s Prime Beef, LLC.

Our top priority is quality not quantity. We don’t vaccinate any of our calves because we have a closed herd. We monitor what our cattle are exposed to by quarantining any new cattle that are brought into our herd. We are also antibiotics and steroid free. Our calves are never given any growth hormones because we have selected good genetics that lead to healthy, good growing steers. We put our hard work and passion into raising a product that not only are we confident to feed our family but yours as well. By following this practice, we have been able to produce a consistent, high-quality beef product.

Description

Our high desert cattle ranch is located in Camp Verde and covers 13,000 acres. We lease government land to maintain our mother cows and breeding stock. By utilizing the natural resources from the land, this starts as the foundation for how we grow our cattle. We are committed to ensuring that the land is taken care of by following economic and environmental practices. Our herd of Brangus and Beefmaster cross helps to clean old growth and regenerate new grasses by foraging on the land. Their calves are able to grow up on multiple acres until we wean them at about six to eight months of age. At this stage, the calves are brought back to our property, where they are fed twice a day in a large pen area. We don’t crowd or overload our pens. This way, we can control what feed is being given to them. Our calves are raised in a low-stress environment that prioritizes their overall health in a compassionate manner, enabling them to reach their full growth potential. We support local farmers who grow their own hay and grain to feed our cattle. Our calves are fed a quality forage of wheat hay for the next year to eighteen months. Next, we mix a grain combination of corn, oats, and molasses with spent brewer’s grain. By using brewer’s grain as animal feed, it benefits the brewery by helping them get rid of a by-product. We utilize Dark Sky Brewery & Lumberyard Brewery. We have found that the wet brewers’ grain, which contains about 30% water, helps soften the additional grain we add and aids in the digestion of the cattle metabolizing the grain. The marbling that is produced from feeding this type of diet creates a tender, flavorful cut of beef. We have been in business for 14 years and have a hand in every aspect of raising our cattle. Our focus is family-oriented, and every family member plays an important part. From a newborn calf to a finished steer filling our freezer, each plays a vital role in our family-run business.
